Cathedral of Our Lady of Candelaria / / Camagüey is known in Cuba as the City of Churches. One of those beautiful temples is located in the same historical center of the city, Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Candelaria or just Cathedral of Camagüey linked to the Catholic religion. / It is also called a Major Parish. It is part of the architectural ensemble that surrounds the Agramonte Park, a former Plaza de Armas. / It is noted that this jewel of architecture had the antecedents of the first churches built in Punta del Guincho, Nuevitas (1514-1516) y Caonao, Esmeralda (1516-1528). It is also stated that after the definitive settlement of the villa in the lands of Camagüebax, was erected in 1530 a stone church, destroyed later by the fire that affected the city in 1616. / It was declared Holy Church Cathedral on December 10, 1912.
