The contest is now open. It has started on July 6th and ends on Sunday August 25th at 23.59h (11.59 pm) local time (European Summer Time). By registering for the contest you agree to the Contest Rules and Declaration. Please read them carefullly before registering. Among others, you can read there what the maximum number of images is that can be entered in the contest.
You can register and upload your photos on the contest page.
Photos can be entered in four categories. New this year is that we ask photographers to add an artist statement, in addition to a description of the photo (series). In the artist statement we ask you to tell us how the idea for the photo (series) and the photo (series) itself have come to be. What did you envision, what do you want to achieve with the series?
First of all, that information adds a layer to the story that is being told by the images. The maker’s vision strongly determines the end result.
Secondly, Pride Photo Award intends to help all of the winning entries to find the audience they are intended for. Knowing the maker’s intentions for the story, helps us find the right platform(s) for it.
A jury of internationally renowned photography experts will judge the entries and select the winners, which will be announced in September 2019.
The winner of the 2019 Pride Photo Award (the main prize) will be flown to Amsterdam to attend the opening weekend. The opening and Award Ceremony will take place on Friday November 1st 2019.
The exhibition of all the winners of Pride Photo Award 2019 will be on display in Amsterdam during the month of November and is expected to draw 10.000 visitors.
