2018 World Press Photo Contest
Dear friend,
The 2018 World Press Photo Contest and 2018 Digital Storytelling Contest will open for entries on 1 December 2017.
This year, we're asking for your help to find, recognize and show the best work worldwide.
To give the independent juries the best chance of selecting diverse work, we have launched a campaign to encourage applications from those who have not entered before.
In previous Photo Contests, only a small percentage of entries come from Africa (2%) and South America (6%), so we're keen to see more entries from these areas. Female contestants are still a minority, submitting only 15% of entries, and we very much want to increase that number.
We also aim to highlight our new Environment category, encourage more applications for the sport category, as well as the 2018 Digital Storytelling Contest.
We would appreciate your support for the campaign that will run until 4 January 2018 on our social media channels, website and newsletters.
You could help by:

Sending us any thoughts you have about how to reach more people in your field or area to communications@worldpressphoto.org
Sharing details about the upcoming contests with your networks (see below for key dates).
Thank you for your help,
