"Casa Madiba, reverencia la igualdad..."
Casa Madiba, hostal del sector no estatal, honra la cultura africana, y especialmente a Nelson Mandela (1918 - 2013), activista y político sudafricano que lideró los movimientos contra el apartheid.
Esta ubicada en la calle República, la arteria comercial más importante de la ciudad de Camagüey, cuyo centro histórico es Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad.
Lleva en cada una de sus ocho habitaciones, los nombres de personalidades que han combatido o combaten el triste flagelo de la discriminación, en homenaje a sus ideas...
Al llegar al hostal el visitante encontrará un bello mural que asegura que el lugar no constituye un culto a ninguna raza, porque sus puertas se abren orgullosas para todos los seres humanos, pero si es un grito de protesta contra el prejuicio --racial, sexual, género, religión.
Señala Amaury Vázquez Villalón, el propietario, que Casa Madiba promueve la cultura afrocubana, el jazz latino y la música tradicional de la mayor de las Antillas. Deviene espacio para resaltar lo más genuino de la cultura, con actuaciones de agrupaciones como Rumbatá y la Compañía Ballet Folclórico de Camagüey.
Casa reverencia además, la igualdad, inclusión y equidad defendidas por el líder histórico de la Revolución cubana, Fidel Castro y Nelson Mandela (Madiba), entre otras personalidades.
